5th Gen Camaro

I know you guys dont like retro but I do, cuz I have a '67 rs, so I wouldnt mind nostalgia in my new car. Even if they only build a retro car for a couple years, say Camaro were to be made retro, its a chance to relive the glory days of muscle cars today, and give the rest of us who werent alive back then a chance to live in what we can pretend it might have been like in the muscle car era. But dont get me wrong I have my favorite cars new and old, i'm just saying if they did build the new Camaro a little or alot retro, I wouldnt mind. Anyhow, i have some other pix here if anyone wants to take a look.

Thumbs up

I like it, but then again I am also a big fan of 1st gens. Nice work. However none of these pics we have seen on here will make me forget that the "Chicago Show " has passed and there's not even any news of Camaro.

I love the car camarokid...great job. Build it Chevy!!!!!!!! One thing though...lose that stupid front cross bar. I hate those things. If GM ever puts those things on Camaros and I decide someday to buy one, the cross bar will come off and be thrown into the garbage...or be pained black. Camarokid, I hope GM gets wind of your drawings and they use them.

hm, you could do something w/ the bar in the front to make it look a lot nicer... need to fix the location of those fog lights though... but other than that bro, i love it. it's a bad *** design. i personaly like the 67 better because it has more of an arch at the back of the car where the wheels are.... it has more of an arch than the 69

some kid on here had a bad *** design of a 5th gen concept mostly 1st gen ideas though....omg do i love it, lol

ooo, and the back lights on your concept ROCK. oooo shiet man, you dont understand... when i saw that, i spooged myself, lol

you got something going on man.... retro is in now, everyone's going that way... i think you've got the right idea here

Looks good, but the rear end looks straight off the new Mustang concept. One of the best sketches I've seen though.

OK...You MUST enter this in the 5th Gen Design Contest!!!!

Got to:

www.gminsidenews.com

I love it! I do like the squared off headlights better. Even the infamous chevy spear looks ok there. It would be nice if those could be hidaway headlights!

If I could offer 1 suggestion....don't take this the wrong way...General consensus is that the camaro is a little on the large side as it is and might be better off being the size of around a 1st Gen. Your concept looks a little too big.

I usually don't go too wild about concepts, but yours is great. I would buy that as my next Camaro. Just give it an LS1 and I'd me more than happy!

My Friend, you are IN the glory days of muscle cars. The last Z28s, the current Mustangs, Corvettes are faster than they ever were without buying engines that double the price of the car. The upcomming GTO is the quickest ever made. An automatic 454SS Chevelle is hardly any faster than todays Monte Carlo V6 (and could be embaressed by a new Altima 3.5), the Impala SS of 1997 is quicker than any Impala SS before it (again, dismissing exotic engines that maybe a dozen people bought in any particular year), and the upcomming supercharged Impala is likely to be quicker still.

The ONLY problem with today's muscle cars is that most all are front wheel drive and have 4 doors. When you actually compare the actual performance of today's cars to yesteryears, you'll be very surprised as to how much we have taken for granted todays cars compared to those "good old days".

Yeah but you have to remember tire technology of the 60's was a joke, skinny bias ply tires could not transfer the power of the big block cars to the ground. So in stock form as is from the factory, yes a lot of even V6 cars today are as quick or quicker than the legends of yesteryear. But slap a set of Mickey Thompsons on that old LS6 Chevelle and the scenario changes dramatically!!!

That being said, I would agree we are in a heyday of performance every bit as impressive as that of the classic muscle car era.

I like this concept drawing...a bit too 1st gen-ish...I've never thought the 1st gen was truly represenatative of the Camaro, it was only 3 years long and built off a Nova chassis. The drawing is VERY well done and thought out but I'd like to see some ideas taken from the 2nd through 4th gens.

The thing I like about this drawing is it looks a lot like the old 240SX in proportions...I always liked those cars.
