Exclamation 500 horsepower S/C V8 Ford Focus

It's not headed for production, but I thought I'd include it just to show what modern car chassis are capable of doing (plus there was a rampant rumor at BON for awhile that the new Mustang was based on the Focus). The whole thing's actually surprising.

It was evidently much easier than one would think!

My kind of Focus...I saw a story on one last year that had a NA 5.0 crate motor, and I thought that was crazy! You need to be a baller to control this thing at WOT on the road or you're in DEEP...

Nice project, but the costs are understandibly insane...and the weight of that engine probably completely screwed up the handling characteristics...Good to know some people out there see the TRUE performance potenial of a small, light car...

OMG...now I've seen everything!

Can you imagine the focus next to you cranking up and then hearing mustang noises?

Small car + V8 must equal fun! And even if it didn't, it would still be an exciting ride.

I heard that someone out there has a kit that converts a focus sedan or hatchback (no wagons) to RWD and V8 power. It was like $6,000 w/o the powertrain.

BTW,

I've seen at least two V8 RWD Focii tooling around SE MI.

Probably the Kugel Komponents kit featured in Hot Rod a while back.

Now That is a Sport Compact that I'd gladly pay $30K for.
