351 v10 Mustang (Experimental)

Anyone seen the new Motor Trend? They had an article on a BOSS 351 Mustang, and it wasn’t a classic or a v8. It’s based off the modular 4.6L, and made 430hp and 405lb-ft of Tq at the wheels. Too bad it most likely will never see production. There have been rumors of v10 Mustangs and BOSS’s, so I hope this engine see production sometime down the line (wishful thinking).

Other MT tidbits:

*Just by reading the paragraph titled GM Midsizers, MT talked about the Monte Carlo, Imp, and GP getting small v8's with output in the sub-275hp's. The downside is that MT made it sound like these cars would retain the FWD configuration . They kept mentioning Tq steer and front drive chassis. I sure hope that's wrong.

*The Bonneville will get a 300+hp Northstar v8.
*The next lightning most likely will not have a 6spd or a Manual. Expect a new 4spd Auto as the only tranny.
* The Ford GT’s output will be 550hp and we’ll start seeing them next year.
*Due to cost, all mustangs short of the Cobra will have a live axle. Due to the size of the 4.6/5.4, struts and a lower A-arm will most likely be used. Brandon has mentioned this before. A bit disappointing if you ask me.
* Chevy promises a more serious Silverado SS
* A new GTO is in the works. It will be designed in the U.S, but built in Ausi.

I know most of this is rehashed info and some are MT speculations, but i found some of them interesting. Throw in your 2 cents.

That was a very cool car. I also liked how it was sort of a hush hush job done by some of the true gearheads at Ford. It kind of makes you wonder what other "project" cars are floating around Ford and GM buildings.

I don't see Ford doing it, but the new Mustang should be the best one yet.
