Wow...a 330hp muscle car RENTAL!

I shudder to think of what will happen to those cars when they are rented out. People beat on regular rental cars as it is.

 

I'm sure they will command a "HEFTY" price - with I would guess a deposit as well.

 

Wow. I didn't think they'd pull that off in this era...

One of the reasons they canceled the originals because they got beat on so much.

 

And people stole the engines out of the cars and returned them with their old engine.

How long before the GT is 330HP? 2007?

 

BRILLIANT! Do you guys realize how much marketing mileage Ford will get from those 500 cars? A whole bunch!

Renting fast cars is a blast. I once rented a 1990, 5.0, Mustang GT, 5 speed in Florida.

A buddy and me were attending a seminar in Boca Raton, and it just seemed like a good idea to stay afew extra days and enjoy south Florida in the winter.

We were going to rent a convertible...it just so happened a Mustang convertible. As I was completing the paperwork, I asked the girl on a whim.."Do you rent Mustang GT's?" Yes, she said.

Hmmm.

Can you you get a 5 speed? "Yes" she said.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

How much, I asked. "Same as the convertible", she replied.

I'LL TAKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk about flogging a car......OMG!

 

All of the GT-H's are autos so autocross may not be the best place for them.

As an advertising scheme, these are ok. But I am not impressed by them otherwise.

 

I never ceased to be amazed at how much Ford indulges in it's past. This is just a marketing gimmick. You can't even get the cars with a manual?? Meh.

Yeah, but it is still more of a gimmick than anything else. With only 500 cars being made, I really doubt many people out there are going to get the privileage of actually renting one.

 

I would hope so. Car is giving their rental cars more horsepower than their GTs? Just giving the GT a 30hp boost straight from the beginning would have been a better idea I think.

 

330 Horsepower? Someone remind me is it 1998 again?

I am depressed the GT doesn't sport atleast 350 Horsepower from the factory yet

 

I rented a GT convertible in south Texas about 10 years ago, was a 1996 model I believe. Took it to Padre Island, it was fun. Almost got it stuck in the sand, but didn't
