Re: 300C SRT-8 pics

. . . but I vastly prefer the PRICE of the SRT-8 ($39,995). It's where the CTS-V SHOULD be.

Dumb GM pricing strikes again!

Sorry to intrude with reality. But if the SRT8 is that good, the market will bid up the price with dealer markups.

Re: 300C SRT-8 pics

. . . and the CTS-V and STS-V's hyper-inflated prices will keep lots of people out of showrooms who don't know GM's prices are "just kidding" before rebates and incentives.

Sorry to intrude with more reality.

Re: 300C SRT-8 pics

For what it's worth, GM's higher prices on the Caddys will at least allow their popularity to endure longer. The Escalade, for example, had quite a long run as a fashion statement. A lot of that was because not everyone could afford one, and therefore they remained unique. Once the market is flooded with 300s and the rock stars start seeing themselves coming down the street every 5 minutes, they'll be quick to move on to the next automotive fad.

Besides, the CTS-V was not intended to compete with the 300C. It's kind of like saying Mustang competes with GTO, just because both are 2-door, V8, RWD cars.

I haven't seen any incentives on any CTS-Vs in this area and they haven't been sitting on the lots.

$40k? I'd says a decent price. You can have a full sized sedan that will basically will match a C5 in straight line accel.... ouch!

Re: 300C SRT-8 pics

Now we're comparing the straight line acceleration of a Chrysler land barge to the last generation Corvette? I really don't think that vette folks are too concerned about that car (kinda like how Viper folks could care less what happens when I hit the 'go' button in mine).

I still think the CTS-V is a great car for the money. I'm starting to think that Caddy can charge a premium for it's vehicles in the same way some of the import nameplates do. Lexus/BMW/Caddy/Chrysler...which one doesn't belong?

Yeah, isn't it amazing that this land barge can match the acceleration of C5? I think it's amazing, seeing as how it weighs 900 lbs more.

And it looks like it can make a GTO look like a brick on a road course.........

I guess you could say it's also amazing that V6 family sedans these days are quicker than the muscle cars of yore...that's what technology does for you. Does this "super hemi" have cylinder de-activation? Regardless, do we have any MPG ratings yet?
