300 hp Dodge Caliber SRT4

300hp 260 lb-ft torque
6-speed
19" wheels
3200 lbs
0 to 60 in 5.5
1/4 mile in 14.1
Base Price $22K

On a personal note I think it looks like a blunt nosed Pontiac Vibe with fender flares, ground effects, and spoilers tacked on. Put a Pontiac nose on it and you could see what a Vibe GXP would look like.

I've got to give DCX's SRT another thumbs up, 300hp in this segment is unheard of.

It's a performer. And like you said, the power is unheard of in the segment, not to mention 19" wheels as well. I do have to say, after seeing the commercial, I like this better than the Neon by far, even though that's not saying much.

Plus I read in the C&D article that SRT plans on making Stage kits for them as well and one kit may include an upgraded turbo. It will be interesting to see what kind of numbers these things are going to make. What caught my interest the most was the base price of 22K.. not a bad price for the level of performance you get.

Nope, just front wheel drive. If it were AWD, 13 second timeslips shouldn't be a problem.

Dang, isn't the non SRT Caliber available in AWD? I don't see why they would give it 300hp yet still have such a small vehicle front wheel drive.

Yes it is.

Every thing I've heard about the pricing for the new caliber srt-4 has been above $25,000 starting. Where did you get $22,000?

For $2,200.00 I would buy 9 of them right now, just to do it.

I don't know why DCX didn't build an AWD that could be a WRX fighter.

Because the next Evo is on the same platform and since Mitsu did a lot of the work it wanted to keep the best goodies for itself.

Cost issues are why AWD isnt being offered....yet. Maybe they'll work something out.

I thought I read something that said the Caliber's AWD system couldn't handle all of the power in the SRT-4, but I could be mistaken.

I think we both might be right. It's that an AWD system though could handle all the power would cost too much.

They didn't want to spend the $$$ it would take to make it work. I believe the $22k price is correct, but I'll look into it anyway and post what I find...
