Re: 3 new SS models to debut at NYIAS

So why does every SS have to have the exact same wheels , from the Cobalt to all the way up to the Impala . There not even good looking wheels

Aside from that , the SS trailblazer is gonna be pretty cool imo , malibu looks a bit better without the chrome bar ......wheres the concept front end from the Sema car ?? Will any of those 2 Malibu's rightfully have the G6 6-speed in the options box or gasp standard ??

Those malibus look a lot better. I like that front end. I wish they go smoked head lamps though.

3.9L with a 6 speed manual

TB SS just kicks ***, what is with the odd ball HP ratings?

We haven't driven them yet, but it's hard to believe the Malibu and Malibu Maxx can carry the SS badge with authority.

That's idiotic.

What's next? The Malibu Maxx Super Fast And Cool But Kinda Not SS?! Even the magazines are calling it out. More designation misuse by GM.

When I clicked on the link a full screen flash movie of the new GS commerical came up. The one with the push start and the car zooming around.

By the time I got to the Maxx it was a lost cause.

Re: 3 new SS models to debut at NYIAS

240hp seems a bit pedestrian by todays standards. You could have gotten that and a 6spd manual on the accord since 2003. I wish they'd have given the 3.9L the 3 valve treatment and tuned it for 270hp and then used that for the Malibu Maxx SS.That and it would be nice if they'd make AWD optional on the Impala SS.

The TB SS looks great though. Short of the mega-dollar Cayenne Turbo, Range Rover Sport, and upcoming AMG M-class SUV, you aren't going to find that kind of power or performance in any relatively affordable SUV.

My take on the new SS models.

Love:
Cobalt SS
TB SS

Okay:
303hp Impala SS

Somewhat Dissapointed:
Malibu Maxx SS

That Trailblazer is going to be NICE with that much power/TQ, but I wouldn't call it an SS. I'm not even a big fan of SUV's but gotta love the engine in that thing. The malibu's don't need an SS, especially if it's not done right.
