At what speed do you yank down 26 mpg? I ask because on level ground with cruise control and going 55-60 mph I can pull down 25 or 26 mpg in my car. It drops to 22-23 mph at 75-80 mph.

The car has enough torque that I don't really have to downshift on the highway (27" tire with 3.31 final and VI .63) in order to pass in a decent amount of time so I can just put it in 6th and cruise.

 

I go 70 almost all the time when on the interstate. I got used to that speed because it's just about all the Honda can go without sounding like it is working too hard, and I got sick of watching out for cops hiding on the on ramps. So, to answer your question, my Corvette will get 26 mpg at 70 mph, but don't forget the car weighs just a little over 3100 lbs. and can cruise that speed around 1500 rpm. I dont know what it gets at 75-80.
