Looks like they took the stated the obvious (for 2009 info) and made up the rest for 2012. While I have no doubt that Ford bouncing ideas about the 2012 Mustang, I have serious doubts they are far enough you could have a remote idea what the car looks like yet. Ford has more pressing matters right now...like finding a way to stay in business the next few years.

 

The 2012 looks like a chopped camaro I agreee....its ugly to. The 09 looks worse then it does now.

 

Lets hope the designers at Ford post those on the wall as "what not to do".

Although I will say a design that reactive would only be evidence of Fords complete lack of direction.

 

These are both poor quality photochops - give them no credit.

I have posted before that the next Mustang is basically complete... there is no "designwork" going on with it at this time. Ford is already putting finishing touches on NVH, driveline harmonics, suspension changes, etc.

I suspect that even late next year, people will be guessing and chopping together what they think the next car will look like. Fact is, a few people know already, but we won't know until Ford is ready to leak it.

In the article itself, most of their write-up is correct - describing a more modern, edgy design for the next reskin, and they are accurate to most recent rumors on the powertrains too. But the two basic images they show are bogus... the red one is a poor photochop of a production 05/06, and the silver one resembles an artist's rendering I recall from about 3 years ago, that has probably been digitally enhanced to reveal depth and some reflections.

Interesting part is, most of us in this forum knew about the design and powertrain data well over a month ago - so R&T hasn't broken anything new, at least on us. More proof that the internet is faster than the printing press, eh?
