Looks pretty good there. Better than the sketches.

Doesn't do anything for me. Looks more like an appliance than anything GM has out currently. Hopefully it'll be a lot more attention-grabbing in production clothing.

Much less side sculpting than I was expecting.

I think the white paint hides the details of the body. Not to mention the way the natural light is falling on the car and the camera angle.

Hard to get any idea without seeing the front of the car. As for looking like an appliance... I'm not at all against that. Toyota has shown time and time again that bland styling sells cars because it appeals to bland people, who, let's face it, are the ones buying in this segment.

it looks like they fixed the ugly *** tail lights from the current gen car. It looks quite cruze-ish to me

Can't see enough to really draw any conclusions.

Well it's a lot better looking than the ghastly Impala, which GM should have pensioned off by now (even if its cheap for them to make)... even with that camouflage.

Don't like the orange turn signals in the tail lamps, but not bad from everything else that can be seen.

The tail lamps and headlamps for that matter are merely mule related and not representative of the production lamps.

So far I like what I see.

Those are just for testing. In fact if you look closely they appear to be nothing more than those cheap replacement trailer lights from Walmart.

So, have we heard if it is true that the wheelbase is being shortened? The pics seem to indicate that this is the case. Look at the side profile shot, then look at the side profile of the current car. The back door and window glass definitely look shorter.

WTF? Are they doing this to make the car a small midsizer again, with a redesigned, more premium Impala set to battle the Camry and Accord in the bigger midsize ranks? Why would they do that after spending years and dollars getting the Malibu to be the prime competitor for those cars? The Impala name may even be too rental-car oriented now (though that was the case for the Malibu name, and it seems to be recovering nicely with the vastly improved current car).

What am I missing here?

Chevys description was despite it being smaller on the outside , it will be larger on the inside over the current Malibu . Cant fault that formula one bit . Their not shuffling cars , the Malibu remains the midsizer , Impala will remain a large car above it .
