I don't think the Astra is the same as the Excelle, however.

So which is it?
The current Excelle is a Daewoo. The future will likely be delta 2 based, like the Astra.

OK.
Just went back to this thread:
https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...hlight=Excelle

The Excelle in that thread looks like the Verano (look at the front end).

So FUTURE OF GM was right.
The Verano is the Excelle.

Well, I guess Buick can't hit home runs every time.

Buick dealers need a small car with no Pontiac..so I guess this is GM's answer. I am not really sure how well it will do however. When I think premium small car all that comes to mind is VW, and I don't think those buyers are looking at Buick. We will have to see I guess.

As for Buick being the "fastest growing brand"...thats because the line only had 3 models untill last year and the LaCrosse and Lucerne were crap boxes. Buick sold less than 100,000 cars in the US in 2009. Add the new Lacrosse and Regal, and they can easily add 50K units and have 50% growth, but your still only talking 150K units.

I will be curious to see if VW can hang on to the "premium" label as they start selling us their de-contented "fat American" U.S. only VWs vs. what the rest of the world is getting.

People always lambast the Cruze for its torsion beam rear, but the new "U.S." Jetta has a torsion beam rear (other than GLI), rear drum brakes, and a cheaper interior than we've seen in a U.S. VW in some time.

I think Verano is such a laughably bad name I can't believe Buick are really doing it.

Car is OK, but should I park it between my Nissan Murano and my Suzuki Verona?
