Nissan's involvement with Dodge's truck business could be much more than this latest agreement by the time 2011 rolls around. Cerebus isn't in the buy-and-hold business, if you catch my drift, and it wasn't long ago that Nissan was looking to crawl in bed with a North American manufacturer.

What about the Armada and QX56?

Where will it be built?

What happens to their Mississippi plant?

This helps to explain why they dropped plans for a diesel version of the current Titan...

I knew a Nissan design/engineered Titan didn't have much of a chance for a second generation with the way sales of the current truck are going. They are only selling about 1/3 of what they originally planned.

The Titan is a bad@$$ truck. I sold mine last year. One of the most enjoyable vehicles I ever owned. My son still misses it. I wonder if this means the end of the endurance engine? I hate to say this since it means buisness for an american company and I love Dodge............but it makes me kind of sad to see it go.

I have to agree. I'm just afraid that Cerebus is just testing the waters for a spin off of the Jeep or Dodge truck line and then merge the rest of Chrysler into another company. I suppose a Chrysler-Nissan deal as a true merger of equals would be a better than Chrysler being broken up and sold as pieces for best profit to Cerebus.

Don't expect any sort of "merger", and don't expect any sort of spin-off that results in an independent Chrysler.

The world may be getting towards the point that we have too many car companies, and as a result, I'd expect a lot of M&A activity in the upcoming years.
