Wow, so V8 mustangs are VERY close to $30k. Pretty close to Camaro now in pricing.

I wonder what the margin is on a V8 Mustang? I know Ford wants to increase prices across the board. I strongly suspect the days of a "blue collar" Mustang are rapidly coming to an end and it become a premium offering.

The starting price nearing 30k is no surprise. 400+hp cars don't come cheap.

Still, @ $29,645 it's the cheapest 400+hp car on the market.

If 400hp isn't cheap - 300hp is - just about $22,500 for either Camaro or Mustang. Which is $2,500 cheaper than a Hyundai with 300hp. Cheaper than a 330hp 370Z for $29,990.

I thought the Mustang would have decent price advantage on the Camaro , but guess not . It'd be fairly easy hit mid 30's or more on a trak pak GT . Brembo package shows only being avail on the GT premium if thats correct .

They went up a couple hundred on the base , and a couple hundred on a couple pricier options like the RS package . The rest was unchanged .

Thanks. So it looks like the base prices are within ~$1k of each other.

I believe that was for new 2010 pricing.

I doubt we will know 2011 pricing, until it gets closer.

Its popping up in other places:

http://forums.themustangsource.com/s...d.php?t=479855

So a comparable Mustang is now MORE expensive than a Camaro?

Base Mustang GT with Brembo package: $32,191

Camaro 1SS starts at: $30,945

Mustang GT premium with Brembo package: $34,540

Camaro 2SS starts at : $33,945

Camaro numbers taken from:

http://www.chevrolet.com/vehicles/2010/camaro/build.do

Edit: Oops forgot it says Premium only for Brembos on the Mustang.

True . I dont know how their gonna play that out with the Camaro since the 2010 came out in spring of 09 . Do they extend the 2010 MY , called 2010 until the normal late summer/fall cycle ~or do they switch to 2011 early . Fords in the same situation now with a 2011 Mustang out so early as GM was last spring 2010 Camaro . Not unless this new Mustang isnt coming out till later in the year ...to which Ive honestly paid no attention .
