No, it is a car for South America. I'm not sure what platform it is on. Looks like a 2 door Equinox, but I'm sure it is smaller than that.

Put the Buick nose on it and you have your Buick CUV.

That would be better than giving Buick a TE or Theta CUV. They would have original unique product and a smaller fuel efficient car.

that's exactly what I would say. it is much better to offer differentiated product that will feel and be categorized differently, to compete better and in more segments, and not waste opportunities in segments. looking closely the sweep of the winshield, profile, hood height, overall front shape, grille size, and headlights size and shape closely match the Buick CUV making the rounds, providing further proof for what's been said here already. I would be interested in seeing only high performance high efficiency engines offered along with electrical, in keeping with buick's aspirational image. say a 1.4 turbo with 140 hp [over 38 mpg is definitely possible], a 2.0 turbo with 260 hp, and a hybrid electrical or voltec variant or BAS high tech. with the right designed interior and the right exterior design and trim, young upscale people would flock to it, so long as the exterior design hit the right chords. a compact SUV with huge levels of efficiency is definitely missing from the marketplace at this point, and one with a premium image Buick can afford would be a "MINI" style idea.
