That car hardly looks any different, unless I'm missing something and that's an 07 pictured.

That's correct, it doesn't look any different because you're not exactly looking at the rumored Impala - you're looking at a current model-year Australian market HSV Grange which is a modified WM (long wheelbase VE) Statesman/Caprice with an emphasis on high-performance and luxury.

Edmunds is saying that they believe that this car will surface here as the rumored Impala SS - in a couple of years. If that's the case, with all the exposure the VE cars have been getting (at least in forums like this) are we gonna get tired of seeing this car before it even has a chance to show up here as a "new" model? VE cars will have been on the market for a couple of years by then - GM is going to have to keep them fresh style-wise for sure.

Guys:

The Impala won't be a Holden. Holden doesn't have the manufacturing capacity to build a mass-market car for the US, period. Edmunds is blowing smoke. The Impala will be built in Oshawa, and I'm quite sure it'll have its own design.

True.... and I wouldn't expect Edmunds to be any more accurate than say..., Motor Trend... I was just putting the article out there for discussion.

I guess we can all agree (and by all indications) that the car will be built here, but it will be based on the VE car; how much so will depend on whatever real differences there will be beyond sheetmetal anyway between VE and Zeta when the tires hit the pavement - so to speak.
