I would have thought the Equinox is not a direct competitor to those.

While I like it, with the exception of the size increase, these real pics of the interior don't make it look as appealing on the inside.

That is one hard looking dash. Gaps too.

Go take a crappy, one-handed, duck-into-the-car flash-photo of any of Toyota's jesus cars and let us know how it came out.

Isn't the car in the picture preproduction anyway?

Wow, they followed up an awesome job with the Malibu with an awesome job on the Equinox.

Too bad they didn't release these cars 3-4 years ago; I don't think the finance problem would be near as bad.

All the Govt had to do was look at the original equinox, then look at this; look at the last malibu, then the new one.

It's like two totally different companies. To say the current GM management should be fired is well IMO wrong.

Goes on sale this year...2010 is just the model year.
They will be there for both.

The Nox actualy shrunk an inch according to the press release. Nox is perfect size IMO.

They both look cheap and low quality.

The difference is in the details. Yes, the Equinox is probably a pre-production interior (see gap, passenger side dash pad). Also notice that the piece around the ignition switch appears to be separating.

I'm not defending Lexus/MBenz by any means (actually don't like ANY of their models), but the difference between those cars and a Chevy becomes very apparent when you sit in them. The quality of materials is generally a higher grade. No plastic chrome, or hard plastics below the dash pad. Things like felt-lined glove boxes with actual key-locks. Real leather on the armrest, actual fabric-wrapped a-pillar trim. Also note that those look like bad cell phone pics. Not the staged lighting and photography as used in the 'Nox photos.

The Equinox interior looks GREAT for what it is--I think it will be a great competitor in its own class. I think Equinoxes tend to land in that low 20's range topping out in the low 30's. The question is whether it lands on the quality/WOW side of the competition in that price range. From the initial photos, I think GM already has a head start. I would not expect the level of refinement and attention to detail that is experienced/felt in a "luxury" mini-SUV.

I literally exclaimed "Wow" when I saw the interior. Nice job. And, yes, I like this interior design quite a bit more than I like the Camaro interior.
