2009 new spec released for most GM models
http://media.gm.com/us/gm/en/product...infoindex.html
Also, I noticed that there is now pricing for several 2009 Pontiacs, including the G8, at edmunds.com. My guess is that everything at media.gm.com is also on Edmunds.
The G8 GT gains over $1000 for 2009, though XM radio is now standard.
The V6 model also has standard XM, but it gains less than $500.
I guess the quick sellout (from GM's perspective -- there are still bunches on dealer lots) of the 2008 GT convinced GM that they could raise prices substantially.
It'll be interesting to see how things play out with the new Hemi in the Charger R/T and what Dodge does to Charger pricing, now that the Challenger R/T is announced at $29995.

Dodge Challenger R/T is cheaper than the Charger R/T. Challenger is a Lincoln below 30 grand. The Charger R/T starts at $31,700
With a 1 grand increase, the G8 GT will still be cheaper than the Charger R/T. Especially since you need to also get the Road and Track Package

So much for the most powerful car under $30k slogan.

I'd guess the new CAFE regs pretty much wiped out any chance of that since MDS can't be used with the manual. I think ever since the GXP was announced, it's been pretty clear it would be the only manual offered, unfortunately.

I wouldn't expect GM to certify a 6 speed manual for the GT untill it gets it's finances back in black, or stop it from being deep in the red.
The GT although is a sports sedan, it's a pretty safe bet that less than a dinner table of people would order it with a manual. Unless GM charged people for it, certifying a manual for the G8 and G8 GTwould be a loss to GM.
However, a manual in a performance sedan like the GXP would have much higher take rates although I suspect it would still be less than 20% (Camaro's was a mere 30% in 2002).
At least, certifying the manual in the G8 GXP would actually see some on the street and contribute to it's image as well. Certifying it in the G8 GT, although something I would be enthusiastic about, probably wouldn't be very worth the money.
Fourth gen Z28s came with automatic transmissions standard.
If you wanted the 6 speed manual, it was optional. A no cost option, but still optional.

Nice to see the Pontiac Torrent is still alive for '09. I thought it was a gone after '08 or switching to GMC. IMO the Torrent especially in GXP trim is one of the best looking crossovers on the road today. I am still looking for a good deal on one.
Some other notes:
*The 3.9L V6 in the Impala 9C1 is down in horsepower from 242hp to 233hp? But no explaination given, was it detuned for better MPG? Looks like the 3.9L is down in horsepower in other application too.
*The Tahoe Pursuit Pkg. still uses a 4-speed auto, while the Special Service Pkg. gets the 6-speed auto.
*Imapla SS finally getting new wheels
