Note the 5 lug wheels. The current V has 6 lugs.

Re: 2009 Cts-v.....

I kinda prefer the six bolt rims of the current V, not sure why, but seems to give the current car a more serious or heavier duty image - ya know - less mundane or ordinary? Maybe the extra lug really doesn't mean anything in the real world - I don't know.

Hmm, not really digging the taillight treatment. The round units literally look tacked onto the car. I thought earlier CTS rear end shots had knife edge vertical taillamps like the current model. The car's rump looks to be fairly "substantial" - might be the camouflage to a degree though. All in all, looks to be a nice evolution of the currrent cars lines. I'm looking forward to seeing an undisguised car - whenever that will be.

Does anybody know if a production ready CTS going to be debuted on the car show circuit this year?

Actually the car in that link IS a powertrain mule. Both the CTSv cars shot are powertrain mules to some degree with that bubble in the hood still there.

Looks like the one I sat in last week, except it was black with "tent" camo, not zebra striped.

That car is HOT.

All the proof the blower naysayers need. Now the question is: Is it a blown N* or LSx?

The production V6 will be shown in Detroit I believe. V series will be a delayed launch, along with "other options" (wait for it..............)

4.6l Na V8???

If some rumours of a 4.6L naturally aspirated V8 are true, there is no way it will make 500+ HP.

The only way is if it will be supercharged, or LARGE displacement NA V8.

Weird comment in the article.

Maybe the difference in lugnuts hints at a different rear axle?

The front brake calipers look much bigger then the last gens, the rears look like a cary over.
They went to 6 lugs because they said that the 5 lugs couldnt cary the weight? Same reason why all SRX and STS's have 6 lugs.

I think the top engine will be an LSx derived one. And I think there is going to be another V8 below it.

The one I posted is the NG but with V series powertrain, so I guess it would be a mule. But what Charlie posted was a current CTS with the NG V series stuff added to it. So mine is closer.

Those taillights are not what the production call will have, the round units are like what you said "literally tacked onto the car". They are using these for safety reasons during track testing, they are just temporary tail lights. Apparently the production units aren't ready yet, or they don't want to give away there final look yet.

That's not correct, look again.

What Charlie posted is an NG '08/'09 CTSv, but it still has the non-production hood bubble.

What you posted are my pics of a regular '08 NG CTS with a CTSv powertrain.
