2008 Z06 info?
I'm about thiiiiiiiiis close to calling bs, but the quote from the Halltech guy got my attention simply because of the fact that it follows something that I've already heard to expect in a vette soon.
Read and see what you think. BTW, most of the guys that post there are kind of ignorant, even if they do have Z06's

Re: 2008 Z06 info?
theres no way gm would be stupid enough to COMPLETLY drop the zo6 name and make only a "SS" corvette. Why would they only have a $50k model, and then jump straight to a probably $100k model. Even if they did do that, they surely would just switch the zo6 badge to the 700hp version. I think that guy is full of crap, no matter how credible he has been.
Re: 2008 Z06 info?
I like the ZR1 name plate myself
Why would GM make a 505hp 427 for just a few years and not put it in anything else? I am not in favour of the S/C 6.2L. NA all the way!!!
Maybe a 3 valve head and VVT could boost the 427 to more power then it has now.

Re: 2008 Z06 info?
I wonder what the odds are of the Z06 being boosted, and the Camaro having the same engine, but with less boost. Would that make economical sense? A reasonable step up for the Z06, would be something like 520hp-550hp. I really don't see them going to 600 or 700hp, because of the need to make everything else in the car stronger.
Re: 2008 Z06 info?
The "Super Vette" will see a blown 6.2l engine...before I've heard as much as 600hp but this was years ago, now I've heard it creep towards 700hp possibly more. Could be the LF-A that Toyota is redying.
Either way........the one thing in GM that has stayed consistant in future development is the Corvette.....that's one thing I'm glad I can bank on.

I agree, it makes more sense to use a blower to get more power than using a super stressed high reving N/A engine.

Re: 2008 Z06 info?
Well, a blown camaro makes perfect sense as we have never /really/ been able to compete against the Cobra's or whatever top Mustang that has a Blower on it, because well - we don't have a blower, LOL.
Those Mustangs are the ticket for fast performance due to the Blower, it'd be nice to see one on a Camaro for a change...

Re: 2008 Z06 info?
I have to wonder how Motor Trend came up with the information they have for the 09 Pony cars. Obviously it is hypothetical, but some of it seems strangely close to the truth, as I have come to understand it on here.
