2007 Subaru WRX STi?

It's still very boy-racy, and the front looks a bit weird, but not bad overall.
Is Subaru ever going to switch over to a front-mount intercooler? They seem to have this thing for top-mount.

ugh....it's a great car--why do they INSIST on making it uglier and uglier?? the STI would easily be at the top of my list if it weren't so god-awful ugly
but to answer your question, Subaru will use a top-mount intercooler as long as the engine is in a horizontally-opposed format, which allows it to sit lower in the bay, iirc

Indeed, I can remember my dad popping the hood for the first time on his '88 Subaru DL 4x4 wagon. It was the day he brought it home, brand new, and he spent about 10 minutes trying to explain the boxer engine. Of course, I was 8 at the time and all I could comprehend was that there was a spare tire under the hood
Ah, the memories of that car...the rust popping out on the tailgate within one year of ownership, the 2 clutches it chewed up in 26k miles, the weirdest new car smell EVER (my mom still gags thinking about it), memories of my dad needing to double clutch the damn thing on the 1-2 shift when cold because it ground 2nd like a meat grinder (especially fun when trying to get into traffic!!!). And yet, people in the Northeast worship these little buggers, and have forever...
My dad has nothing against Subies, and realizes his was a lemon. So why is it every time I meet someone who hates GM products, its because he had an '82 Citation that used to stall once in awhile? Or an '86 Celebrity that was rusty by 1995? Or, better yet, a Chevette that "had issues" the owner could not recall?
Sorry for the rant...just find it funny that while all cars have issues, import owners stand by their cars and rant about the American ones they owned 20 years ago...meanwhile ignoring that import cars could be piles of crap too. After 4 years at a dealership, I've heard everything...

I like the sharp headlights and the bulge of the hood follows the ovalish line very nicely. They still need to take the mail box off the hood and put it on a door. (and the wheels+spoiler are crap too.)
Re: 2007 Subaru WRX STi?
I'm still puzzled as to why the former Alfa Romero designer is so persistent on putting the same nose on all the Alfa's and now every other car he designs. Is this ugly nose the only thing he knows how to create?

There is no emoticon for that move.
But hey, that car is relatively cheap and fast. Ugly, yes, but I'm sure they'll be around for a long time.
