I believe that it will be the Merc version of the Ford Fusion.

Re: 2006 Mercury Milan

Looks good....but renderings usually do. Imagine it about 3" higher and with a lot smaller wheels

Re: 2006 Mercury Milan

ugh...When I think of Italy, I dont want to think of that car. I think Milan should sue Ford for using its name.

Yeah, but from every indication, these types of Ford released pics are based upon actual cars. Remember the Fusion? Seems that the spy pics of that car are right on with what Ford released a few months ago. The Fusion and Milan are going to make a big impact in their segment.

Re: 2006 Mercury Milan

Why not give it a good name that stands for what the car really is....The Rebadge.

Yeah, HUGE impact...oh wait, Mazda made the impact last year. It only took 3 years to come out with a rebadge. Now its all sizzle. Still very behind the imports.

When will Merc actualy get a car that doesnt share 90% of its body pannels with a Ford?

The same year that Buick, GMC, and Pontiac get cars that don't share 90% of their body panels with Chevrolet.

Comments like that make me wonder how much some people really know about high-volume manufacturing, much less the costs associated with development and tooling of a vehicle these days.

Re: 2006 Mercury Milan

Consider the source. If it doesn't wear GM on its sleeve, it's junk in the world of Al. But don't take my word for it, do a search.

The car looks ok to me, but not my cup-o-tea.
