Re: 2006 Eclipse

Looks a lot like a Mercury Cougar to me, at least from that picture.

Is this going back to turbo I4 / awd by any chance?

That is only a concept, not the REAL production car.

Yep. Note at the bottom of the page there is a spy shot of a development car in full camo. Quite obviously a little different than the concept car...

that would be the only way I would buy one. but then it would be competing with the evo. Now if it was a detuned 4g63 with 220 hp or so, that would be cool and still quite moddable. It would have to be cheaper than the evo then.

Re: 2006 Eclipse

That concept car was SO fugly....if the new Eclipse is based anything like that design I can see why Mitsu needs DCX to rescue them!

Re: 2006 Eclipse

Can't say I like the car, but I'd love to get ahold of that electric engine! 200HP alone! I can't imagine braking being the only regenerator

Re: 2006 Eclipse

No thanks. Looks like Mitsu is trying to morph even the Eclipse's front end into the Mitsibishi "family look"

Re: 2006 Eclipse

I am 80% certain that the electric engine was only in concept form, but neither it nor its derivative is planned for mass market. Neat idea, though.

Re: 2006 Eclipse

As far as I know... this is very similar to the actual car. I believe Mitsubishi had a press release on their website some time ago with pictures of the car.

Re: 2006 Eclipse

Death to triangle headlights!!!

Now that that's off my chest...I can't wait to see Mitsu take the Eclipse back to it's roots. I always thought that the current generation (more of a 3000gt) was the wrong direction.
