Well, first up is the winner for me. The new Evo X will debut in 2006 as an 07 model. So whats new? You basically get everything the MR offers standard. A 6 speed tranny, a bigger turbo as they say goodbye to the awesome 4G63 and say hello to the new 4G93 which will be amazing as it will give the Evo much needed power in the top end. HP will jump up to about 315 and TQ will be right around 300, the car will be lighter and the already perfect AWD system will be upgraded and get even more perfect as they will implement the exact same system from the cars they use in the Rally races Oh ya, they also plan to keep the price at $30K. So basically it will be a lighter Evo with a bigger turbo, more HP and TQ and improved AWD for $5K cheaper than the Evo MR. If the MR runs the quarter in the high 12s, I expect this to do it in the low to mid 12s making it by far the fastest and most complete race car you can get for $30K, hell, not even any car in stock form under $50K will compete with that except Ford's new Cobra (see below) and maybe the C6 but with the AWD and improved top end power of the bigger turbo, I say advantage Evo.

Nissan will FINALLY bring the GT-R to the states. It will come with a twin turbo and carry a 3.5L V6 with 450hp But it will also come with a $70K pricetag

Toyota will bring out a new Supra type car (like their 444F racecar) that is rumored to carry a 5.0L V10 making 500hp that is supposed to give the supercars a ran for their money. It will also come with a supercar pricetag of well over $100K, jeez.

The 2006 Audi S4 will be an AWD and carry a 5.0L V8 making right about 400hp, pricing hasnt been set yet but expect about $40K.

The new Z06 will be released with a whopping 7.0L V8 making 500hp and sporting a racing suspension As if the Corvette needed any more help in handling

Ford will be dropping the brand new Cobra in 2006 as an 07 model. A S/C 5.4L V8 cranking out 465hp and 495tq for about $40K

Also coming in 2006/07: The new Dodge Charger, the new Camaro (or some form of RWD Chevy sports car) and the new 400hp Pontiac GTO. Its going to be one hell of a year for fast cars of all varieties.

The 2005 GTO will have 400 hp. The 06-07 time frame will be interesting-especially what is being kept quiet.

The 2005 S4 has a 4.2L V8 340HP/302tq and starts at $47K, I doubt they will drop the price if they bump up the HP. Expect a base price of $50K-$55K

The Mitsu sounds like a great car, but there is a good chance they will be out of the USA by then. Since DCX/Mitsu/Hyundai are making a joint 4 cyl architecture there might be a chance that the next SRT-4 gets that engine or at least a more mild version.
