2005 Mustang Spy Shots!
Love the interior. Love it love it love it.
Go with that aluminum! We've been looking at frickin elephant-grain plastic for too damn long!
Go with the two-tone, cause we've been looking at boring monochomatic crap for too damn long!
Go with a dash design that doesn't follow the genericized pentaprism-instrument-pod-and-cutaway-passenger-side theme that started with 80's japanese cars. Tired of looking at that, too!
GO FORD!
And please GM, get off your butt and do something about it.

For those who havent yet,WAKE UP!!!
That IS a base V6 Mustang...Call it watered down if u want..
I just love how they added the padding to the roof to not show its true lines.
For those who say it doesnt look like the concept.Of course not.Its suffering from zerba pox.
Oh yeah Ill take retro.

If anything gets us a new Camaro, it's going to be wearing a running horse on the front. Once these things start hitting the magazines and pushing the "SS" models off the front cover, that long elusive "business case" will probably emerge.

You can bet on it!
The new Mustang will be on every magazine cover for a year. Even the high profile SSR will seem like an inconsequential peripheral afterthought in comparison.
I just hope GM plans on the next Camaro surpassing the new Mustang, not merely matching it.

I niticed quite abit of padding on the roof also. What can be made out is a long wheelbase and short front overhangs and probably a pretty sporty roofline.

Looks about how I'd expected...I've been keeping close track of the development of the car, because by the time it's out I'll be ready to buy. Of course, the future suspension/engine options, pricing and most importantly, build quality will factor in my decision. So far, the announcement that the GT will only have a live rear axle doesn't bode well.
I still believe that FoMoCo is missing a HUGE opportunity to make the new stang a world-class vehicle with a ground-up design. Instead, they're engineering to the lowest common denominator, IMO....Honestly, even the explorer has IRS now, and the stang, Ford's mainstream flagship car, doesn't. Because there's no f-body, the next stang will compete with a group of well-handling, highly refined imports that are steadily creeping close to the stang's straight-line speed ability.
Despite its so-so styling, I think the future of affordable sports cars is currently exemplified by the 350Z/ G35. Light, state-of-the-art suspension, and watch out if that engine ever gets forced induction. I know Ford likes to claim they won the "muscle car wars", but I think building another muscle car in an era where there are none left, is optimistic at best. And the imports that have focused on building a refined, durable package over the years are now turing their attentions to more power.
That being said, unless Ford REALLY screws the pooch, we all know the stang will be a huge success with large dealer markups for the first 1-2 years. And who knows? maybe they'll have a few surprises for us by the time it actually comes out. I know Ford is worried about costs and profits these days, but this is a car that could fulfill much higher potential than what its slated for now. GM and DCX better be watching...

I'm waiting
I am so glad I didn't buy a z28 now, I will buy this new mustang if and when it comes out and I like the production mustang. So far this car looks sweet. The interior looks good though can you imagine what that interior would look like if the bottom half was black instead of tan (which they probably will have). I just can't wait till these cars come out and if they have 400 horses or near there. Im going to go get one
. I just hope they have 4 seats like the camaro and mustangs have now. Also when is the detroit auto show and when is this supposed to hit the showroom floors?
