Impala SS will be supercharged only:

The LS2 Corvette officially goes 186 mph, does the quarter in 12.6 seconds at 114 mph, is the fastest production Corvette in history and has a base weight of 3179 lbs:

And finally, there will be a 2005 Cavalier!:

At least that's what I thought was the official # from awhile back. It doesn't sound too much lighter than the current Vette.

I'm glad to see the Cavi around one more year. That way it can handle the fleet sales and it will make all those Cobalts look that much better when people go new car shopping.

I really dislike the idea of putting the old models into fleet sales. For a lot of people, the only time they ever drive a GM vehicle is when they rent one at Avis. And if all they have to rent is old crapboxes, their opinion of GM is never going to improve. GM should be putting their best cars into the fleets-- it's almost like having tonnes of potential customers pay to test drive your vehicles.

"I want BMW owners to get into a Buick or Pontiac rental and say--holy mackeral, I didn't know GM cars were getting this good".
I read on one of those links that the Cavalier would cease production in August 2004. No need to worry about old models being sent to the rental car farms. It will die after the 2004 model year.
