True that, no way it's going to be the 4T65E.

Just be sure to start in the lane opposite the direction of torque steer.
Torque steer is conspicuously absent from my 04 GTP's handling. It was a much more common problem in the 1970's and 80's but with a few key suspension and driveline refinements, it's been largely banished from modern FWD's.

While I agree it has been reduced, i wouldn't say it has been largely banished. Even with 4 cylinder cars, torque steer exists. Or how about Nissan Altima/Maxima with its V6 245/260 HP engine. Even when changing lanes on the highway, you have to compensate for torque steer BEFORE you floor the car, and similarly, BEFORE you let go off the accelerator. Talk about crazy...

SRT-4, with its healthy torque amounts, still suffers, although not as much as most expected.

What I see that may assist is the heavy weight of V8 GXP, perhaps GM will also add some traction control or other features (equal length half-shafts). It better have a limited-slip differential. For normal driving this is fine, but try and take off quickly or with some spirited driving.... Even my Integra with 1.8L engine has torque steer if taking off the line, and when the surface is wet, I have to be a little careful even at higher speeds.

On the other hand, perhaps torque steer in 70's or 80's was higher, so I cannot make that comparison.

Yes, Torque steer is pretty much a thing of the past, my dads ETC has 300hp Northstar, and it has very little torque steer.

An interesting thing about my two current V6 FWD cars:

the Monte, with 60 less hp, seems to have more torque steer than the 04 GTP... I found that a bit odd.

Another little tidbit to add here.

The V8 is replacing the supercharged V6 across the board as the 3.8 production winds down.

This also means the new Regal is also likely to have the 5.3 V8.

This also means my assumption that Buick was going to continue with supercharged V6s as their top power was wrong.

Does this mean the GP GXP will have more HP and cost less than the Bonnie GXP?

Remember that V8 Grand Prix concept called the G8? Well...

How the 4T65E can take 300-350HP is beyond me...maybe AWD is the key?
