six-speed automatic transmission will boost the fuel economy of a typical 4-speed transmission by 4 to 8 percent.
6 speed should be faster than the 4 speed too, right? Seems like an easy way to boost fuel economey.

I can't wait until the GM 6 speed autos come out.
an avg of 6% from the 6speed automatic + 8% from DoD =14% overall better milage with the same HP and better performance.

I don't think you can add them that way. It's like saying "I've got 4 mods that claime to give me 15 HP so I have 60 More HP."

It's a good thing. I like 6-speeds. Especially when fitted with a clutch, and manual shift lever.
