THANK GOD

I like the Malibu SS, personally, but the last time I was on a Chevy lot I took a look at some more basic Malibus. The interior is fine. The powertrain choices are fine. The price is good. But the styling is just...off. The new nose helps a ton, but the style just isn't right.

I am happy to see that the G6 is only 16% fleet sales, but am saddened to see that the Malibu is 49% fleet sales (got that from either this post or C&G's post). When Chevy is the best selling car line in the entire country (which I am proud to see), their midsize offering NEEDS to be better. It HAS to be better. As a Pontiac dealer, I'll be sad to probably lose some G6 sales in a couple years to a dynamite Malibu. But, I look forward to the benefits it will have on GMs bottom line. Plus, if I'm still working that second job in a couple years, someone needs to put me out of my misery

Scott, I don't suppose GM is hiring these days, eh??? Yes...I already know the answer to that one...just thinking back to our conversation at BG #3, and my conversations with Jack Smith when he was still CEO (he's also a UMass alum, and gave a speech at my school. He even took the time to pass my resume along!!!)

I hope someday, the answer to that question may be different It's still my lifetime dream...

Whew! The Malibu and Impala are areas Ghevy, and GM in gemeral, really need to leapfrog the competition to the front.

Mechanically and imperically the Malibue is on par with the best in the class, it's just too plain...even for vanilla.

Re: '08 Malibu cancelled?????

As the insiders at C&G continue to discuss the topic, it sounds as though some smaller suppliers have just been cut from the program as GM continues to move towards globalization.

Thanks for posting the good news, RP. Have you heard whether the GMX002 ION is still on? There was a thread on C&G saying that may have been cancelled as well, but some info in the Malibu thread on C&G says some suppliers were just cut on that as well and it's still on.
