What's the real story on the possibility of an '07 Camaro? Is this really going to happen? If it is true, and if they look anything like Horton's creation, I can't wait to blow the doors off of some pos Mustang in the next couple of years. Let me know your thoughts.

 

There will be no camaro, and if there is chevy will overprice it or make a pos out of it. sorry

That pretty much sums it up. Until GM comes out with an official announcement (or leak... ), everything is just pure speculation.

The Search Function is your friend, albeit unnecesary as every page and thread of this forum is littered with references to the maybe possibly 2007ish chevy coupe. Thanks for sharing.

 

Summary:

There is a very good chance we will see a Zeta based Chevy Coupe around 2007. It may or may not be named Camaro. It may or may not be Camaro sized or camaro in"spirit". But you should be able to buy a RWD Chevy V8 coupe in a liite over 2 years.

 

Not in 2007, but maybe in 2008 or 2009

Information from people who have seen the VE Commodore suggest that:

First look at the current VZ Commodore here and use that as a starting point.

Next look at the Torana concept here and here. Notice the similarities in the front bumper? Also notice how the bonnet(hood for the americans ) goes down towards the front quarter panels. So it has a high bonnet and the front quarter panels sit low over the wheels. Also the VE Commodore is suppost to have flaired quarter panels which you can also see on the Torana.

Now look at this pic of the Opel Insignia concept, notice more similarities to the first 2......

You can also see some similarities in the Velite.

Now close you eyes and use your imagination for your own private spy shot

Last time I checked, a car's design had nothing to do with blowing the doors [i]"off of some pos Mustang"[i].

Why? What are you hoping to see? It's going to be a camoflaged sedan whose body is going to look like a cross between a Holden Commodore & a Buick, since those are going to be the 1st to hit the streets & they are going to have similar bodies.
