Re: 05 Mustang GT with blower.

Whipple has one about to come out as well with a intercooler setup right next to the blower similar to the on the Ford GT if I understand it correctly. low/mid $4000s supposedly for complete kit and 475-500 hp on 8psi... I'll take it...

Take a GT, add some decent rims, lower it just a bit and slap a blower on there and I'd be pretty damn happy with it: http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/.../gfgstang2.jpg Looks badass... Chevy better not blow it with the Camaro or I'm going Ford when I graduate college and buy a new car...

The new GT will get a lot of aftermarket attention. There really isnt anything affordable besides this damb car. The GTO didnt sell to well so aftermarket knows how many stinking new stangs will be sold and want to be on the band wagon.

Yeah. They aren't BIG N/A power makers due to the limited cubes and even when stroked, they don't displace that much. Fords also generally have lower compression and a more blower friendly tune compared to GM. You won't find a BIG hp 4.6 that doesn't have a blower, nitrous, or turbo attached to it.

I like that intake, and the supercharger looks great under the hood. It should put up some pretty good numbers, and that black mustang Ray posted is Hot!! No doubt, the regular car looks a little ho-hum with those thin tires and 4x4 stance, but its got some definite potential with the right wheels, tires, and drop. I'd toss in small chin spoiler to finish it off.

Man I loved the 05 Mustang already, this makes it even more badass. Only if I had a little more cashflow at this point...

475-500hp seems a bit high for 8psi though. 450 would seem more correct.

I know. Have you see the BFgoodrich ad (been out for a while) with the Blue GT with aftermarket brakes, a drop, and what appear to be 18's?
http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/ads/05/BFGBlue-2.jpg

Wheels and drop alone do wonders for the 05.

I was basing that on a post I read from one of the Whipple guys on a modular stang board. It's a 2.3l blower very similar to the setup on the Ford GT. Of course it's just a manufacturers guesstimate but I would think they wouldn't want to set estimates high and then disappoint with the finished product... :

It has a new intake manifold with a 4" intercooler (almost identical looking to the SC Cobra), uses our 2.3L axial compressor (same as GT and current Cobra upgrade kit), etc. Will have dyno numbers very soon.

The 04 5.4L makes 500hp with 7.5lbs of boost. It has 300hp stock so I would be dissapointed if we make anything less than 475hp with the new 4.6/3v. We have a new intercooler, better than our original prototype so I'm estimating 500hp on 91 octane fuel. There are some limitations currently, such as the charcoal filter before the MAF, but were working on that.

Thanks,
Dustin
Whipple Superchargers
Not that I'm too worried about it, I'd be fine with 450...

Re: 05 Mustang GT with blower.

The blower (the 2.3L Whpple) can support 700 rwhp. Of course the motor cant take what that blower will put out. That head unit is about the equil to a Procharger d1sc in CFM output. All the bottom end componats our the same as past mod motors so it want be long until there are some sick 05'd prowling the street. I know they arent quite what our LS1s were stock but finally the Mustang GT owner has a car worth modding in my opinion.
