Regal is a pretty decent/non offending name. I hated the Lacrosse/Lucerne rename. Im suprised with the way GM was going, the Lacrosse wasnt the Buick GS. I would be highly interested in a Turbocharged Buick.. if it had a tune friendly motor and came in black. I would love for GM to do a modern retro of the 80s..G body chassis cars.

I am only 28...I think most people buying new cars have seen their fill of Threes Company Reruns. Regal is an old people name..end of story.

Damn dude. I thought you were older than that. Especially the way you bitch about Pontiac.
(note: I'm 28 as well and bitch about Pontiac)

If this Regal only comes with a 4 then It's over. I unerstand a turbo 4 but you need a 6er if you are going to compete at all with other Almost luxury cars. I mean, I could go to my local Chevy dealer and get a Malibu with a 6.

This is a much better looking Buick Regal, not so bland and anonymous as the first pics in the thread. The 325hp turbo 2.8 would be nice little mill to have under the hood.

I hope that the VXR/OPC comes over intact as the GS or whatever they end up call it..... with the manual tranny.

Thanks. It just didn't make sense not to have a 6.

Could you show me the market research method you used for your public opinion poll, the sample size, and the margin of error? You're entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't necessarily make it a fact, or the end of the story.

I'm 29 and I think Regal is a great name for a car. In fact, I own two!

I dont associate Regal as old persons name . In fact wasnt it a myth as to why they ditched the Regal name in the 1st place ....as the both the regal and century ( ...now theres a name tied to things that are old ) , essencially the same car, were at the top to the quality charts when they were out and replaced with the LaCrosse name .?

I hate when GM does this. GM will have a great looking car they sell in Europe or Oz and they always numb the styling down when they bring cars over here for America.

With the European styling intact, this car would have made a great Pontiac.

That is the OPC VXR trim. We will probably see that with the GS model coming

FWIW, my dad drove a '55 Buick Century when my folks started dating. I'd hardly call it an "old persons' car". In fact it shared much of the same lines as it's Chevrolet counterpart.

My dad drove a '56 Special (very similar to the '55 Century) when he and my mom started dating. More or less like this one except his was all blue, no white accent below the sweepspear:

That was a "cool" car at the time. He even had a snazzy spotlight.

Before that, he had a '38 Roadmaster.
