welding some boxed metal on a torque arm...

lets jsutu say I took the torque arm and welded some boxed metal to it.... woudl strentghening the rigidity(sp?) of the torque arm thsi way be useful in Autocrossing or drag launches.

I had my car up on a lift when I got my exhasut installed, and noticed my stocker was cracked.

Must have been the insane amount of torque from the 3.4L.

i've been planning to do this same thing for sevral years. i am gonna look into it when finally get my car to NY to my dad's shop so i can use his welder. i was gonna look into adding material to the bracket that bolts to the differential housing as well to strenghten that.

i'm familiar with your setup from the "florida forum" and i was wondering if you had a poly torque arm bushing? i got a noticable improvement when i installed mine. the old tires i had on the car would spin like mad and cause a little shudder (already had lca's). this was eliminated with the bushing and i notice NO increase in vibration inside either...just thought i'd mention it...

Actually I do have one... got it installed for free... since had would have it out, while my tranny/clutch were getting replaced... Tranny guy had no idea what he was getting himself into when he said sure I'll install it no charge

I noticed a difference, gave me more 2.0XX then usual I wouldlhave a few but most 2.1X. I think its worthwhile, and mine was only $4.95, main reason I even picked it up was if my order was over $200 I woudl get $10 off, and the poly torque arm bushing put me over the top, figure, worse case I could sell it to someone if Inever got around to installing it.

Some take a 2nd stock unit, cut off the ends and sandwich and weld the 2 together.

Looks stock and there are no DS clearance issues

its off 441, and south of the turnpike, a bunch of turns, I cannpt give good directions, but I could get there if I had to.

No 4th gens, but maybe 20 3rd gens, and they would lose 5 and gain 5 every week

If I can find it, I have a stock TQ Arm you can have, all you have to do is pay shipping. But, the mount for the rear end is DESTROYED. Let me know if you want it, and I will try and find it.

Don't worry about it for me... I found a torque arm locally... I am sure with my expereince of sway bar shipping, it ain't cheap.

Either way putitng mods on hold at the moment I am having some oil leaking issures, coudl be my sending unit, or worse the entire unit where the oil filter attaches to the block.
