Ultimate Setup???
Ultimate Setup???
i am tired of not being able to keep up with the porsche's/vettes on the on/off ramps and now its time for me to get my revenge
i've been looking around for a bit now and decided to ask all what is the ultimate setup.
i want to order the nitto 555R2's, 35mm swaybar (front), 24mm rear bar, and a strut tower brace.
what else should i go for?

What specifically do you want to do?
Speed or handling or both? Meerly increasing the ability to take corners on a ramp or on a track won't get you in the same range as those cars. They have the power:weight ratio well in their favor.
Don't get me wrong, there's much to be gained w/suspension mods, but how much of an increase in speed are you looking to get? If its in the neigborhood of the ZO6/911 crowd, you'll need a generous bump in hp/torque. Otherwise you're just kidding yourself and wasting time.
Suspension:
*Springs, straight rate similar to 1LE
*Shocks, at least Bilstein
**Ultimate combination is to get coil overs from LG Motorsports.
*Rod end LCAs; stay away from Poly (red stuff)
*Rod end PHB
*Front & Rear ASB such as 32mm to 35mm for front and increase for back
*Torque arm. I like the LG TA.
Rear Gears: for street use go w/3:72 or 4:11. Strict track use stay w/3:42.
Brakes:
Get better brakes and larger rotors. Porsche or Wilwood or Bob Bishop C5 or Baer GT+ or better. Do a search for what you want and can afford.
Stiffners:
*STB and SFC (get the three point SFCs)
*DSSL--yes they contribute to a stiffer setup
Engine: How deep is your wallet? Cam only or Heads & cam? You can get into the 410++ RWHP range w/both heads and cam and the necessary bolt-on parts. Find a good tuner. Without this step you'll never achieve your goal. Just sell your car and get a used ZO6.
Exhaust: headers + free flow exhaust. A good choice is the SLP two on the left.
Bolt on parts: CAI, 85mm MAF, 160* stat, light weight flywheel (and while you're there you might as well get a new clutch and PP.)
I think that'll allow you to feel more than comfortable w/those super cars. You can now realize why they cost the numbers they do. I pulled a 911 turbo recently. Felt good.
Regards
Steve

Ahhh, suspension stuff will get you in the same range as those cars on a ramp. Especially if you can drive!
