Tire question / Goodyear Eagle 255/50/ZR16?

First off, does anybody on the board have experience with Goodyear Eagle GS-CS 255/50ZR16 tires? I am getting a used set and I want to know what you think of them.

and SECONDLY,
Have any of you successfully stuffed 255/50 ZR16 goodyear eagle under your car? I think they will fit, especially since I rolled my fenders .

I think those Goodyears are over-priced for what you get. Just one man's opinion.

As far as size is concerned, aren't the 255/50R16's the stock size for 3rd gens? I'm pretty sure that they are.

Finally, I was able to get 235/60R16 snow tires on my IROC without any real problems.

3rd gen cars came originally with 7" wide wheels, 255s wong be OEM spec.

I would believe that they would fit, but only because I know that 275/285 can fit with 17x9" wheels. I have an article somewhere in a 3rd gen buildup, where the purpose was to "outhandle" by the numbers the days hottest cars, and they got 275s in front and 285s in rear, also experimented with other sizes, all on 17" wheels though.

Good luck

I thought that the IROC's came with the 16x8's... I could be wrong. Above, I said 3rd gens not IROCs. Dr. Mudge is correct, by default 3rd gens came with 15x7's.

They will fit no problem

I have seen 3rd gen autoxers fit 275's regularly. On a 16x9 wheel and a 16x10 wheel. I even know of a 91 1LE that had 315's on it at all four corners. I dont know how but it did.

Probably had to fiddle the wheel offsets.

Wasn't sure about the IROC thing, I figured it was a certain year spread that 8" were an option. I know the Firebird and/or TA had an Enkei style option, and the wheels were supposedly the lightest, I think I heard 16 pounds but forget.
