Wink Tire Question

I've been autocrossing for a little bit and I definetly need some new tires!!! I have a basically stock LT1 (headers, intake, and a few other little things). I have been driving on street tires (16s)and a few times on Kumho VictoRacer V700 (Competition)..any one have any suggestions for a good set that wont run me too much money..(us college chicks are broke!! )

babe-
if you want a new set of race tires, get another set of the Kuhmos and you can use mah rims when we finish off my tires that are on them.

hey, i never claimed to be easy on tires

I new set of tires will last at least a season.. mine have lasted at least 2 cause they didn't get TOOO much use.

the annex is tough on tires, but you will find that greyhound isnt.

Kuhmos are actually "long wear" tires. your only other competitive option is Hoosier, and they will last 1/2 as long.

I don't know what the cost is for the Kumhos (boy, I like saying that), but I've had great success with the Toyo Proxy RA-1's.

We can get a full season (8 weekends x 3 races) out of shaved ones, and they get better as the tread goes down.

There was a good comparison article in Grassroots Motorsports recently that had the pluses and minuses...

OK, since you don't believe your boyfriend......

Go with V700 Victoracer's for the best bang for the buck. Don't get them shaved but do get them heat cycled.

By the way..... NICE pictures!!!

Wait a minute, are these for the street too or just the track????

Here's some general prices, I've actually seen some a bit cheaper but don't know what size you'r looking for. At least this will give you an idea on the range:

Like I said, I'm not sure what those other tires cost, we have to run the RA-1's in our series, and like I said, even shaved, they hold up for a season.

Ok then, Kumho's is your best bang for the buck for autocross.

I run Hoosiers but they'll probably be more than you want to spend, but they stick better. If you want to beat your boyfriend, get Hoosiers.
