Street prepared rules?

I recently started running solo2 and I'm trying to build my car to Street prepared specs. I have a few rule book questions. Can I run subframe connectors? Double diamond style w/ g-load brace? It says no jacking rails but I don't want to be interpreting that wrong. Can I run the hotchkis sway bars? Cross drilled & slotted rotors w/ lightened hubs and titanium caliper pistons?
Any insight would be helpful, I have tried to contact the SCCA on this but they are moving offices.

SP rules are pretty simple, as are most Solo rules. Unless something is specifically allowed in the rulebook, it's not. You already have a bunch of things that have you beyond ESP already. You have to run stock Lower Control Arms, and you have to run a rear gear that could have been had from the factory in a 4th gen (3.73's were not)..... Subframe connectors are not allowed on Camaro's. Some Mustangs can have them because some Mustangs came from Ford with them. Brake rotors can be drilled, but you can't run lightweight components. Sway Bars are legal to change in any way in SP. BUT a 25mm rear bar is WAAAAYYYY too big.

Think basic bolt on's, mostly.

I am the '02 ESP Nat'l champ and I serve on protest committee's at National Events, FWIW.

I ran STE last weekend and was fairly competative for my first time out. I ran a 55.01 when the other cars ranged from 52-61. I want to run in a class that will allow me to run an a compound tire, sway bars, springs, shocks, brakes and do light engine mods(like ESP would let me gasket match). I know there is a local class for what I want but I want to beable to take it to the national events w/o having to de-mod my car.

Current set up includes:
LCA, Panhard, stock springs/shocks, 3.23 rear end, stock convertor, cai, adj fuel psi, stock injectors and hypertech stage 2 chip w/ stock exhaust back on the car. I have the C5 wheels w/ bfg KDW's.

I guess I just need a little more direction.

You have this stuff in your sig., which is different from what you state above. Which stuff you do have (or plan on running?)

"Performance Mods: 1LE Bellows, K&N FIPK CAI, Granatelli STB, MAC Control Arms/Panhard bar, ES Torque Arm Bushing/Trans Mount, TB Bypass, 4" Mufflex, Timing Tricker, Jet Air Foil, Hypertech Stage 2 Chip, ASP Crank/Alt Pulleys, Adj Fuel Regulator, 24# Injectors, 3.73 gears, Yank 2800, Hooker shorties"

The rules in ESP are simple. You can port match 1" into the head from the manifolds. You can blueprint and all, but not lighten the internals. You can do factory speced head and block milling. You can do anything you want to the intake and exhaust systems as long as it stays normally aspirated. Ignition is free. Suspension: you can run different bushings, but they cannot have more metal content than the originals. Swaybars are free, you can run adjustable coil-overs on the front because the car has coil-over from the factory, but you can't run a true-coil-over on the rear. Spring has to stay in the stock location (we run stock rear springs a lot). Brakes: Pad are free, lines are free, can run a Prop vavle and monkey with the ABS. Have to run stock brakes off of an LT1 or LS1 only.

You can change Torque arms, but stay away from real short ones. I run a Random Tech arm. Differentials are free, but have to fit a stock rear-end without modification. You can change seats, steering wheel, shifter, run a harness if you want. No SFC's, no STB's that are more than 2-point.

That's most of the big stuff I think.

Oh, wheels are free......

Disregard the sig, my current set up includes:
MAC LCA & Panhard, 2pt stb, stock springs/shocks, 3.23 rear end, stock convertor, cai, adj fuel psi, stock injectors and hypertech stage 2 chip w/ stock exhaust back on the car. I have the C5 wheels w/ bfg KDW's.
Loss of my daily driver forced me to undo most of my mods on this car.

Did you say you can upgrade to the Ls1 brakes? Does this mean I an go w/ any part that was stock on any camaro? Lt4 intake/heads came on a few of the 97's, are those legal? They show as a factory replacement at gm. I'm thinking about getting an HPM torque arm but it mounts to the body as a cross brace so I don't know how that would fly. I'm a little bummed about having to pull my LCA's off though.

The update/backdate rule is basically this: You can update/backdate entire components from cars that share a line in the rulebook. You have to change the whole component though. In other words you can use an LT4 (all 93-02 are on the same line), but you have to use a complete LT4, not just the heads or cam. An LS1 would be allowed to run the short geared '93 6-speed as per update/backdate, but because you have to change intermediate shafts, it becomes illegal (which is too bad because that would make for a nasty ESP car).

Hey Sam,

How many F-bodies have you seen that got warped because they didn't run SFCs? I've heard of chassis warping w/o SFCs, but not seen first hand. How is your '02 ESP Natl winning Camaro doing?

That no SFC rule in ESP really sucks. I ran FS in Hawaii Region in 2000 but installed SFCs last year and have run in some CP events this year. Too bad cuz other than that, i could be in ESP.

I've changed my mind again. I'm running modded. My friend talked me into it, he's got enough parts left over from his T1 build up that we can do my car.
