spring/shock question...please help, i'm dumb.

ok, i've been looking into replacing my springs and shocks for a tighter, better ride that IS still streetable for everyday use.

as of right now, i've been looking at the BMR's lowering springs which i hear increase the stock spring rate by around 100lb/in., am i right?

now 2 questions:
1. will the SLP revalved bilsteins work with these springs, can i get bilsteins that will work with these springs, or should i look somewhere else? (ok, that was 3 questions in 1)

2. any positive/negative comments about these springs? i don't want to lower the car any more than an inch, and lowering it less is not a problem either.

please lend me your much needed expertise...thank you in advance.

Me too!

I've been thinking about the Eibach pro kit with SLP Bilsteins. The SLP springs don't seem to be worth the effort. Lowering isn't a huge priority. However, I would like a slight drop with a sharper response without completely destroying the ride quality. Am I off base with that combination?

Based on others experience, the HD Bilsteins sound like they would be too harsh for some of the rougher roads I encounter. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

I think your best bet is to talk directly to one of the sponsers and figure out a combo best for you.. and if possibel take a ride in other people's cars....

Personally, since I'm not looking to swap out the stock springs or doing any major mods in the future, after talking to Sam Strano, I decided to get a 35 mm front sway bar and valved Bilsteins.

I wouldn't bother swapping stock springs unless the car was 15-20 years old, maybe more. As for thier lowering springs, they are moderate rate, 300-450# and .75" advertised lowering rate, probably something many people can live with.

Looked at the same, going with the HD Bilsteins..... as soon as they are avaiable! The 1LE springs looked like an interesting option, but you need a good quality shock ( revalved Biltein$ or Koni'$$$ ) to optimize them.

still confused...

ok, so....still not sure about really much of anything. i am going to replace my springs, that's just something i'm going to do. my one concern is making sure that i get shocks that work with the springs efficiently. i don't wanna bounce along the road like an idiot, and i don't want to have to work the shocks harder than they have to by purchasing one's that don't compliment the spring rates of the bmr's.

i've been seeing a lot of people talking with a sam strano for recommendations, i think i might try that if nothing else works.

if there are any more people out there that can help, please reply...
...thanks in advance.

The BMR springs are probably Eibach Pros or very similar in nature, either way, without custom Bilsteins or Koni adjustables, I really don't think there is anything out there for the 4th gen that is suitable for such an aggressive spring.

Many people have enjoyed standard Bilstein HDs with the Pro Kit, but technically they are valved for stock springs, so it all depends on how pick you are. If you can wait a few months, then save up for the shocks you want, shocks are $$$ springs are cheap.

Sam Strano is probably the way to go, there was another company that used to convert them to adjustables but I believe they are out of biz or else just no longer offering the service, I forget which (Shocktek?).
