Sitting High

Last week I installed SLP Springs, Hotchkis Shocks, Front sway bar and End links front and rear.
According to SLP, It would only drop about half an inch but my car is sitting higher up front then the LS1 cars. The rear seams OK.
I double checked the installation and the springs are sitting where they should be and even loosened the sway bar brackets and tighened them while the car was on level ground.
I did also replaced the front shock mounting brackets and they were the same as what came out so nothing is different other than they're newer.
What else will make it sit higher like that, It's been a week so everything should have settled by now. It's real anoying to see the front so high like that.

the way the coils are positioned can affect it as well, my car had the same problem.

the "tail" or top of the coil end was pointing towards the rear. when i turned them 180 degrees to face the front it dropped 1/4.

also, did you replace the isolators or rubber pieces that they rest in?

I didn't replace the isolators on the bottom, they were made out of hard plactic material and it wasn't damaged at all.
I don't remmember which way my coil ends were sitting before I removed them.
I don't think I could turn the springs because, top of the spring has to sit aginst the top mount which has a stop for the coil end.
Could it be that springs are directional in relation to where the coil ends are?

could be.....also, mine took quite awhile to settle and dropped even more after a few weeks. you definately need to drive the car, they won't really settle much sitting.

I've been driving the car everyday to work approx. 20 miles round trip.
I can't think of what else it could be.

Thanks for the info.

you have to make them work though.........flat lands won't do the trick. i went to my local highschool and made some trips over their speed bumps. worked perfect.

good luck.

I just installed my Jamex springs with Koni Yellows up front and honestly i wasn't impressed with the drop which is supposed to be 1.25". It's been a week since then and it's settled down to where it looks damn perfect i think. There is still some tire to fender gap but i expected that because my front tires are 24.8" tall instead of 26" tall like a stock tire diameter would be. The rear of my car sat REALLY high before i put the drop springs in and right now it looks like it has stock springs in the back. Either they need to settle more or I installed the LCA/Panhard/Sway bars incorrectly with no load on them. I'll figure it out. The car drives nice It has no front sway bar but it feels like it does! That will go on this week hopefully.

It's been well over a week for me and the rear has settled perfectly but the front still looks too high. On the plus side, the handling has changed night and day since the install.
I did everything, I drove over speed bumps, did heavy breaking, did hard turns and re-installed the sway bar, I think I'm going to remove the front springs and shocks to see If I see anything obvious.
Maybe the front top shock mounts that I put in new might have something to do with it but I can't see how that could be installed wrong since everything bolted up to where in should be.
I'm also wondering if I should have removed the spring insulator on the bottom of the springs.
