Revalved bilsteins and lowering question.

For all you who have revavled bilsteins and coil overs. How low can you drop ride height before having to have the pistons shortened? I'm currently at 27" on all 4 corners can I drop it to 26" even w/ out it affecting the shocks? I'm running 600 #'s front and 150#'s out back. Any one else done this and did it affect your handling in any way less or more responsive? I'm also putting on 17X11 50mm for the rears and 36mm up front on 285's to eleviate any tire rubbing issues that some have mentioned.

Thanks for any input.

I only use Bilstein HD's on the rear, they are not revalved, I have Koni SA's on the front with my coil overs. I do know it's not an issue with the Koni's though. I run 500# in front and 120# in the rear. My car sits 25.75 in the front and 26.4 or 5 in the rear. Not a problem or issue. I did raise the front up to what you see here because I'm using 17x11 36mm offset with 315's in the front. They stick out just a little and rubbing was my concern. With 600# in the front, it might be less of an issue for you though.

Maybe when Sam Strano get's back from the National Championship (or gets to a computer) he can better answer this for you.

I've got a related question that perhaps you coil over owners can answer.

Sam revalved my Bilsteins for the stock springs on the car. I am now thinking of front coil overs. How much front spring rate can I run with these shocks before I reach the point of needing another revalve?

I'll definitely speak to Sam when he gets back from Topeka, but I'd like some info/input to digest for now. Thanks.

Sorry for the thread hijack. I'll butt out now.

That's probably best answered by Sam, he has some "mysterious" valving job that's top secret and there is no telling.
