Question for LG Coilover owners!
Question for LG Coilover owners!
Im getting a banging when Im in reverse and I turn my front wheel. Its the outside tire that does it. No one can find anything wrong with the balljoints/a-arms/tierods/etc. But when I have the car jacked up, I can rotate the coilover (because of the rodend) and it makes a metal-to-metal bang when it reaches the end of its travel. Would a change of directon/turning cause the coilover to rotate? I have no other noise/issues with the front corner any other time. Just when changing directions.
Thanks for you help!

Well I have had LG's coil overs on my car now for a little over a year and have heard no such sound from them. I even have the older style with the steel bodied shock and Eibach springs. I believe the new ones have alum shocks and Hypercoil springs on them.
I do know that with the stock setup the upper mount in the front can rot and go bad causing a very bad thump or popping noise. A few of my friends here at school have had that problem with their cars and it took us a little while to find it.
I would do a couple things.
1. Check all nuts and bolts....and not just the coil overs.
2. Check to make sure nothing is rubbing if you have lowered it or have bigger tires on it.
3. Look for marks on anything to see if something is hitting or rubbing.
I don't think a rod end could make enough noise in those places to warrant making that much noise. I think it is something else.
Double check everything and look for something hitting.
I do know the coil overs will make a little more road noise (or I think....I have never been in a quiet car with them on) but nothing like that.
