protecting bumpers and stuff

what do you guys do to protect your bumpers and your lower body panels from cone marks?

obviously, NOT to hit the cones would be a good idea... heheh

but do you ppl tape up the bumpers with masking tape or anything?

rub a dub

I don't bother to do anything other than wax my car regularly. 90% of cone marks will just rub off. less 5% will require to be removed with polishing compound. Even less actually leaves permanant marks. Once in a while you will clip a nasty cone, one that has been drug around the course many times before and has abrasive sand/pebbles etc embeded into it. One of those 'could' leave permanent marks.
Other than that, there are a few companies out there that sell a clear adhesive aplique. It covers most/ all the lower sections of the car including rockers, quarters, etc. Once applied it stays on for years but can be removed at anytime. You don't even know its on unless you look real close. I've never used it. I like hitting cones..............

Oh-Oh, what am I getting myself into. How many cones have you hit Amit. My hawk is going for touch-up work soon anyways so if and when I hit a cone I wont freak-out.

ive seen guys tape up their cars, but i wouldnt worry about it. it may take some buffing later, but nothign major. a well waxed car will help keep them off. Trey
