Power steering cooler install
Anybody installed a cooler for the power steering? Where did you mount it and which hoses do you hook up to.

I'd like to add a cooler to my car but do not like the idea of slipping rubber hose over a hard line and hose clamping it together. Anybody know what size fittings you'd need if you wanted to use high pressure hose with aeroquip fittings? TIA

Warner, you didn't mention the reason for wanting to install a power steering cooler but I will guess that you are racing and your fluid is boiling over like mine was doing.
I added the Perma-Cool power steering cooler on my 95 Formula in that same place as LPEdave did. It didn't seem to help me at all. It was still boiling over as if the cooler wasn't doing anything.
When I installed a smaller crank pulley it stopped boiling over almost completely.
I have only raced once with it since adding the pulley but it sure did make a difference.

The reason I figure I need one is for autocross and track days. I really haven't had much problem other than losing a little. I keep it just a little bit low. Been using Valvoline Synblend. Another question is would going to pure synthetic fluid help?

I used Dave's HOWTO to get started (thanks Dave!), but put my Perma-Cool on the airdam, using one bolt to hold it on. It stays put very well. The engine also stayed at the same temperature, so no significant airflow was blocked by it.
I routed the lines up next to the radiator, but of course covered them in heat-shielding where they touched the rad. I used Red Line PS fluid, and flushed it first with Sea Foam TransTune.
It doesn't boil over as much as it used to, that's for sure!
