I was wondering what other options i had besides the ZR-1s. I cant afford anything like HREs. Im interested in 17x 11s or maybe even 18x11s and wanted to know if there was something with a comparable price to the ZR-1s. Cheap and expensive suggestions welcomed.

hhmm...if you can find a company that makes three piece wheels, then you'll most likely be able to get a 17x11 combo. a lot of companies that make one piece wheels realize there isn't much market for wheels that wide. well anyway, on with your question: i believe OZ wheels has at least one wheel that they make that would fit your needs. its their oz superleggera three piece wheel in 18 or 19 inch. fikse wheels are, what i believe, as pretty expensive, but they cover 17x11's. the popular american racing torque thrust II's also can be gotten in that size. i don't know if maybe one or more of the corvette wheels are possibly offered in that size by some aftermarket company or what not. i've heard a lot of iForged lately, and they actually visually remind me somewhat of HRE's to an extent, especially their emblem. i believe the z06 wheels are 18x10.5 so that's pretty close if you like those wheels.....that's all i can think of right now, good huntin.

thanks guys, i guess its gonna be the ZR-1s couldnt find anything else that could compare as far as price goes.

 

I couldn't find anything of better value than the AFS wheels either. Make sure to watch ebay for auctions by AFS. I bought all 4 of mine for about $600 last year. Some others on this forum have done the same.

Check out CCW wheels, they are the best bang for the buck. They are also lighter than most rims. And they make 17" x 11" rims with the correct offset, so they will fit in the front and rear.

Maybe if I can get lucky and find some good used CCW wheels they might fit in my budget, but they are WAY more expensive than AFS wheels bought off ebay. The only real advantage the CCW wheels have over the AFS wheels is the weight. Right now there's a lot cheaper places I can remove that weight.

 

I too have been looking for a used set of CCW's for a long time. There are 2 versions of CCW's that use different centers. The old style would not clear my Z06 front brakes

 

ay well i just got my zr-1s off ebay for 760.00 and 75 for shipping. not the best deal but who knew how long it would take to get the best deal. just wanted to say thanks for the heads up on the ebay auctions, saved me about a couple hundred bucks.

Actually the #1 advantage of CCW is that they are a pure custom wheel. Granted, if you looking for cheapo 11s, they may not be for you.

A friend scored a set of used 17x12 CCWs (small centers) for ~$850. That is a great deal, used sets generally net $1000 or so. A new set of large centers cost me $1700. A bargain compared to other 3-piece custom wheels on the market (others start around $3000).

 

OK, I have to ask this then. If the #1 advantage of the CCW is it's a custom wheel, what is the advantage in being a custom wheel? The "custom" offset isn't needed, so weight is the only advantage I see.
