NCM Track Day

This video is about my Drive My Car experience at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, KY. Drive My Car lets you drive your car behind a lead car for four laps for $75. Each lap is 3.2 miles long and has 22 curves. This was my first go at the track. We got up to over 90 mph. It was a rush filled adrenalin experience and I want to go back for more. Unfortunately, they don't do lap time slips.

For $299 you can also have the opportunity to drive a C8 Corvette 4 laps around the track behind a lead car. The next event up is a $300 beginner racing class that goes all day and again you get to drive your car on the track and you receive classroom training on road race driving. You can check it out at NCM Motorsports.

I had a blast. Just across the interstate is the National Corvette Museum that you can tour. In there they have a C6 Corvette setup as an emulator. You drive the car and it pitches and rolls in response to your driving.

Re: NCM Track Day

You are welcome to join MVP Track Time (MVP Track Time) at NCM to drive you own car with no speed limits on the track. Six on-track sessions per day for $430 for the weekend entry.

Hi Kywes,

Thanks for the video, your car looks great out there! I love the look of a lowered convertible! Don't get too carried away or you will want to participate in track days and then you will have to decide between a roll bar (ruining the look of your convertible) or another car with a fixed roof! I went the latter because the roll bars available were just too ugly!

A good shot from my 3/27/21 track day at Sonoma raceway

Re: NCM Track Day

Thanks!

You're absolutely right. I could get hooked on this. And you're also right I don't want to put a rollbar in my car. I can do the first driving class without a roll bar so I may do that. The next step up I'd have to have the roll bar. So I'll probably satisfy myself with occasional days like this one. I checked into a Driver's Club membership but it is tres expenseev!

I also checked into the MVP weekend mentioned previously but they too require a roll bar.

Re: NCM Track Day

The best thing about the 4th Gen hobby is that the cars are not all that expensive. If after you have had a taste of track driving and you want to continue, a good hardtop or T-top car is easy to get and way less than a new GT-3 or some of the other stuff you will see at the track. I bought the red car in the photo for about $5,000 and have dumped another $3000 into it to prep it for NASA High Performance Driving Events (HPDE). If I don't crash it, it will probably have gone up in value by the time I want to sell it.

Post more vids of your convertible, mine was destroyed in a rear ending last year and I miss it terribly! The convertibles really are special cars.
