Post local kid goes 130mph and gets arrested

We all have our stories of fast speeds, near misses from radar traps and even tickets. Sunday, our local paper listed crimes in the court section. On Rt. 22, near Altoona PA a driver was clocked at 130mph with two passengers in the car. The authorities arrested him. Anyone have detalis or related stories?

I went 130-150 mph constant speed for a couple of hours 2 nights ago between Basel, Switzerland and Frankfurt, Germany on autobahn 5. People are getting arrested for going 130 mph on interstates which are larger and safer than autobahns here.
How sad..

I've done 147 on I-5 some months ago, car was very stable, but didn't feel like pushing it more than that - partially because in the US you WILL get reamed by the law. My trip was early in the morning, almost no other cars in sight for miles.

I ended up getting a ticket later for doing 85 in a 70, which was my first ticket.

Hmmmm, Rt 22 isn't even limited access, is it? Not very straight, and likely hilly near Altoona, too. So some old lady pulls out in front of you doing 45....

yikes!

We went from Great Falls, Montana to Calgary, Alberta in less than 5 hours, started at 6:00 am and headed up the 89 to Carway, smooth sailing at north of 120mph all the way (well slow down for the corners). Ya just gotta love those Valentine radar detectors ... never a peep ...

Anyone gone through the twisties near Browning?? ... Stopped halfway through ... car was awash in brake pad and tire odors ...

In the olde-days, speedos were restricted to 85mph, and you pretty much drove around all the time with it pegged

Pushed 110 in an '87 Camaro on I-45 between Houston and Conroe for a few miles, but slowed down once traffic picked up. Don't wanna get arrested by a state trooper in TX...!

Wow, I hope his suspension was updated a bit! I used to do 130 in a 69 Firebird, and I let off SLOWLY in that thing, and took usually 3 lanes in turns (3:30 AM on the way to work 35 miles away). It was high enough off the ground a strong wind would have been scary, or possibly worse.

That was with the stock suspension... he just recently got new hotchkis suspension and tubular a arms....etc... the works... now he goes through Hope Ranch taking all the turns, trying to better his racing abilities.

I think your friend's speedometer was off by about 20-30 mph.
