Living with a single rate spring........
I know there are a few of you here running a single rate spring, what is it like for driving around town? Is it still enjoyable considering that you'll be hitting bumps with very little compression? On the highway?
Would I be happier just having a new shock/strut assembly to swap in for the appropriate occasions?
In the 600lbs and above range would be the most help.....

I've got 600# straight fronts, when I first got them, I thought to myself the car should have come that way stock. When my back acts up now and again, its a torturous drive, but otherwise I love it.
These are with Koni DAs.

I run 700# springs up front on custom valved Bilsteins. The ride is very stiff, but may be due more to the shocks being valved too agressivly by Bilstein. The only time it really bothers me is on the Chicago and Indiana highways which can be quite rough even in a stock sedan. Around town, it is no problem at all. If I had to do it again I would definitely not go higher than 700# or maybe a little less and get an adjustable shock which is valved for these high rate springs.

There is a local guy with 800# fronts and Konis (not a street car), and he open roads the car and would use softer springs for AX (which the car isn't used for any longer), so I would take a guess that there isn't that stiff that you really need to go, especially if your not going to be using big race rubber.
