Post Ground Control Coilover Spring Rate

I have a 2000 Trans Am and I'm about to lower it with Ground Control Coilovers. The car is basically stock and the spring rates I was looking to use were going to be 400# Fronts and I believe 180# rears. This car will be basically mostly street/occasional drag. NO AutoX. Will these spring rates be comfortable with upgraded shocks of course to match them? Any information appreciated.

The fronts are fine but I think the rears are a little stiff. I would probably run something like a 125lb/in spring instead. But if you're going to run something like a 400/125 you may as well just buy an Eibach Pro-Kit (unless you want a the adjustability) since its cheaper and the rates are nearly identical.

I have the ground control setup with 400lb in the front and then Eibach pros in the back on my convertible. I don't race but it feels great. I have Koni SAs and I feel it rides much better than stock.

Hey Steve,

I just wanted to see how you liked your Ground Control setup and the shocks you are using? Thanks.

Well, if you take a look at my opening page, you'll see the car with the coilovers and 17x11's with 315's all around. I'll round up some more tonight and show you.

I wouldn't trade my coilovers OR my Koni's for anything..... ok, how 'bout some double adjustable Koni's!!!!

Ok, go to
http://www.crystalridge.net/cars/ima...1711/index.htm

It's with the coil overs and the 17x11 (36mm) in front and 17x11 (50mm) rear (without spacer), I use a 1/4" spacer in rear, with 315 Hoosier's all around. The car (on street tires 275/40-17's) sits
25.75" in the front and 26 5/8" in the rear. I had a little rubbing under extremely hard cornering on the right front, didn't see or hear any on the left. In the rear I had a little rubbing on the right tire at the top of the fender and a little on the inner wheel well where the front of the tire would touch. I beat on that with a hammer, we'll see how it is next time. I'm not going to raise it, the surface we run on is not the smoothest and if this is all it's doing, it's ok.

I have some video's of a couple of runs and you can see it pretty well, although it looks like the video is "squashed" a little bit. The large file is the best picture but I couldn't use it on one of my Win2000 computers, worked fine on XP and my laptop Win2000. Micrsoft...

The go to my site and click on "Autocross Results" and you'll see the video's toward the bottom.
