I have the Pro Kit and love it. All the reading I have done says that the Pro Kit handles the best. The Pro Kit for the LT1 cars has progressive front springs where the LS1 kit has 400# linear rate springs. I'm running the LS1 springs on my LT1 and think this is the way to go. This was Sam Strano's recommendation and his car is a proven winner.

You will want to change out struts / shocks at the same time as the stock units can't handle the new springs very well. Bilstein's are the most common and if you can afford it go for the revalved ones up front from Sam Strano.

Hey Jeff,
What is the ride height (or the drop if you prefer) with the 400# LS1 springs?
Thanks
Kris

They dropped my car a little over an inch all the way around so it was not that dramatic.

If you cant afford shocks/struts with the springs, WAIT ON THE SPRINGS! Trust me, your car will handle like **** and you have to do the entire install again when you do have the money for upgraded shocks/struts. Just wait till you can do it all at once. Definitely worth the wait.

If you are looking for looks you are on the right track. The Pro-Kit is much more favored in the road racing community. KYB shocks also have a very bad reputation for quality. You might be better served getting a Suspension Techniques lowing kit from Sam Stano and a better set of shocks.

I guess it depends on the application. I am speaking from a road racing standpoint. I do not know a single person that runs them for road racing. Everyone has Bilstiens or Koni's. KYB might do fine a an improvement for a car that was just for the street. But for handleing, you would do better spending a little more for Bilstiens. Just a thought.

Sportlines are NOT handling springs. They simply are too low for the spring rate they have. You'll never keep them off the bump stops, which precludes using them for high performance . They are for looks.

Dude, GET THE BILSTEINS. You will regret the KYBs. They are cheap shocks that will give you barely-above-stock handling. GET THE BILSTEINS. Bilstein HD shocks is what should have been on our cars from the factory. GET THE BILSTEINS. Dont cheap out on your car just to save, what, $100? GET THE BILSTEINS you wont regret it.
