Question Brake Upgrade Options?

Hey Guys looking for some advice,

I am getting ready to put the motor back in my TTA, the car has 106K miles on the Suspension and Brakes and its time that they be gone through.

I figure since I have to replace everything anyways, Calipers, Rotors, Lines etc I would look into an aftermarket kit for the Front and Rear.

Car is getting a pretty serious motor but plan to drive 5K a year, not a daily driver. Looking for High 120 1/4s. I have been drag racing mostly but have seriously been thinking about getting into some Road Racing and figure since I need to redo the brakes I would check out a Nice Brake upgrade kit.

So what are my options and pros and cons?

Also, Any ideas on Suspension if you feel like typing. I have a PA Tubular X-Member sitting in the Garage and plan to go coil over. Everything else is up in the air at this point.

Drag Racing isn't first priority, I would like the Car to do everything well.

how big are your front wheels?

If you have 17's you could go with a BAER kit, or find someone who can make a bracket for a ZR1 or better yet, the ZO6 upgrade (same deal as the Baer but way cheaper).

If you have 15's you're probably stuck to LT1 sized rotors (11"). Just depends on how much you're willing to spend, and how big your wheels are willing to get.

Whatever you choose, try to get the biggest rotor that will fit under your wheels (13" rotor under 17" wheels, 12" under 16" etc...) and use a ZR1 or ZO6/C5 caliper. Don't use the C4 or LT1 Fbody claipers if you can help it.

I'm personally going with Hawk pads, but you'll also want to ask around for this... depends how much dust you'll accept and how the pads will be used (i.e. average opperating temperure on a road course is much higher than in daily driving and demands a higher-temp pad).

The car comes stick with 12 Inch Rotors and Dual Piston Calipers. Its comes with the factory WS6 suspension and 16 inch Wheels. I am probably going to move to 17s also.
