Waxed my car Saturday. Everything was fine until today. My clearcoat is peeling off like crazy?????1/4 of the right side is gone.

I am coming to the conclusion that some son of a %$%$% has thrown some kind of chemical on it. I have contacted my insurance company to see if I am covered since it appears to be vandalism. I work for a large retail chain so,vandalism is a huge possibility. I park way out of the way of others to keep scratches away,and now this crap.

 

Ouch, that would suck. You should test it out on some other painted surface you have laying around the house. See if it does the same thing.

 

is it still covered upder Warrenty?

Well guys,It seems that I am not the only one who had this problem. Two more cars in the same parking lot had the same damage,just on different areas. Still not sure what caused it,but my insurance IS going to take care of it. Heck I got rental insurance that I can use while the car is repaired,not going to cost me a thing. If someone did do this on purpose,I pitty them,if you know what I mean. We do have security cameras outside my work and the guy over the security is going to check the tapes to see if anything pops up. I park so far away,that I don't believe they will see anything.

 

maybe you can pimp the insurance into giving you an entirely new paint job..

 

Funny you should say that. I talked to the place that is going to paint my car,and he said that If he couldn't get the paint to blend correctly that it would have to have a new paint job. I just want it to be like it was before and I'll be happy.
